Success Feature - Meike Bacon

Every Friday, Hustle & Dream is featuring female entrepreneurs, their business and their tips for success.

This week we have Mieke Bacon, who is the franchisee of Liv-eat Fresh Eating Burnie.

Liv-eat is a cafe/restaurant that provides nutritious and healthy meals and supports an active lifestyle.

Mieke is responsible for running the restaurant, training and managing staff. Mieke and Liv-eat have been a pillar within their small community providing healthy meals to medical staff, SES and local businesses, particularly during the recent Coronavirus outbreak.

I asked her what advice she has when it comes to being successful:

Learn what motivates you and learn what motivates your team!! Don't be afraid to alter your leadership style to suit each individual so you can get the very best from your team. One style certainly doesn't fit all! Set your standards high and don't compromise. I think it is also important to lead by example - I don't expect my staff to do a task that I wouldn't do myself. Create a culture that embodies your core values and don't expect any less!! Don't be afraid to ask for help, but always listen to your gut.

While time management isn't my strongest suit, be fully present in the moment you're in. Make time for yourself daily and surround yourself with people that applaud your successes and know your worth, you should only be in competition with yourself. You attract what you think, understand your weaknesses but don't be defined by them!

I also love the quote "women with ambition run their businesses not their mouths".
